I am leaning to take Germany in the X2 in Austria today. Juergen Klinsmann, one of my favourite players in his playing days, has taken over the reins, and while he hasn't made any drastic changes, he has set a different tone.
The two that stand out are making Ballack the captain over Kahn, which may give Ballack a little push to assert himself on the field. More significant is the absence of Hamann, in my opinion the worst player of a bad squad at Euro 2004.
In addition, Austria is having trouble fielding a top squad - they have called in at least two players who are on the bench for their club teams (and I'm not talking about the bench of Chelsea or Bayern).
I think Germany will come out motivated, and while I don't necessarily see a clear win, I don't see them losing.
Germany X2! Anyone care to dissuade me?
Gooooood luck!
